The TUFF feeder holds 25 pounds of layer crumble – enough for 12 hens for approximately one week. And, because it is gravity-fed, the crumble slides down and is smoothly dispensed until empty.
A CLEAN AND SIMPLE SOLUTION
Your chicken feed is only as pure and clean as your feeder. First, a metal feeder is the best way to help you avoid the potential of bacterial growth that can occur on plastic surfaces. The TUFF feeder is constructed of rust-proof, 20-guage Galaxy steel. Unlike typical galvanized aluminum, this material is RoHS approved and does not outgas dangerous chemicals.
SETTING UP YOUR FEEDER
The TUFF feeder can be placed at floor or ground level for chicks, and then raised gradually as the birds develop. Ideally, the surface of the feed should be at the height of the chicken’s back, or about 9 inches for an adult hen.
The TUFF feeder is also available with two convenient mounting options. The wall mount bracket can be attached to a solid wall at the desired height with 2 supplied screws.
The feeder can also be suspended with chains from a sturdy roof structure with our optional hanging brackets. Customer supplies chain of appropriate length. See Accessories and Options.
